We'll go ahead and get started in St. Paul's epistle to the Colossians chapter 1 verse 1.

So it begins Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God and Timothy our brother.

So this is another epistle that lists St. Timothy as a co-author, right, which is another

similarity to all of the epistles we've been reading from that period when St. Paul is

imprisoned in Ephesus, that St. Timothy is there with him and is serving as a co-writer.

I should mention, I should have mentioned in the introduction, but we're not that far in.

This is another one of the epistles, as we've mentioned before, where people question

whether St. Paul wrote it.

If you want to say it was written after St. Paul died, you really run into that whole

earthquake problem in Colossi.

But as we talked about with Ephesians, well, especially with Ephesians in that introduction,

that's based on the writing style and this kind of thing.

So not only is there a presupposition about what St. Paul writes about, right?

So we talked about how scholars, mostly Protestant biblical scholarship, has said,

well, St. Paul's all about that salvation is by grace through faith.

Right. That's what St. Paul's really about about so if you come to an epistle where st. Paul doesn't seem to focus on that oh although that must

not be written by saint Paul right but that's a faulty presupposition right you're taking a couple of

his epistles and saying well that's all he can write about all the time.
