Really excited to provide for you the series of sermons based on the Book of Colossians.

It's an amazing book of the New Testament where the Apostle Paul is writing from prison to a newly planted

church and we took a few months here at the Trinity Church to go verse by verse through

this book of the Bible. I've had the honor of preaching

and teaching perhaps a few dozen books of the Bible in my career and this is the

first time I've ever been through Colossians and I'm really excited that you can

join me.

All right, this is the Bible.

I don't know if you know this, not everybody likes this book.

Did you know that?

There are people that are critics of this book,

they'll find fault and flaw with it.

They're also opponents of this book who find its central message and teaching

to be offensive and outdated and possibly even dangerous.

What happens for those who are critics or opponents

of the scriptures, they will find more

controversial sections of the Bible.

They will read it out of context and then use it as an opportunity to

criticize to take what they consider to be the moral high ground so that we can disregard

or dismiss God's word and proceed forward with some other ideology.
