Good morning everyone. Welcome to Cuffaro Cast. We are right in the thick of things just ending a big game season here in Colorado and I have got the great bill with iron will brought heads on the other line who just finished up his Colorado goat hunt. What's going on man?

0:16.0

Aaron, thanks for having me on.

0:18.0

Well, early but I got caught by me so I think I'm ready to talk to you.

0:22.0

You and I both drew Colorado Mountain Go tags. I drew G7 and what did you what do you mind mentioning what you drew?

0:33.0

Yeah, bottom. Maybe I shouldn't because I really want to draw it again and I don't want everybody applying for it.

0:39.0

Yeah, I know make a number of it's not too far. G 97 far away from where you were.

0:46.0

Yeah, it's a bunch of us drew, let's see Justin Davis, you me Phil, Pete Dawson, a bunch of people we knew drew drew tags this year. I drew nanny only tag myself and then you drew and either sex tag and this was your first mountain goat hunt wasn't it?

1:06.0

It was, I know very little bomb on goats. I see him once in a while in the area where I elk hunt when I hunt a high opening week or so and I see you go once in a while but I really never been on a hunt of lawn and had really no experience with it.

1:25.0

But yeah, it's amazing that just the places they live in the country and the terrain they go through is amazing. It's just awesome to be in there and watch.

1:36.0

Yeah, the landcasters told me once. I can't remember how they worded it but it was something about there's some goats you can kill and there's some you can't even once you can't just up looking at it because you're going to end up killing yourself trying to get to them or something like that.

1:51.0

And I've been on a bunch of goat hunts and I have found that to be very true. It's not like the goats are overly, I don't want to say they're dumb but you know they don't get a lot of pressure.

2:03.0

It's just the fact of where they live is so crazy that you can get yourself in pretty sticky situations if you're not overly careful or cognizant of what you're about to get into.

2:17.0

And I know the terrain where your ats got you know all in Colorado super high elevation obviously because you know here it's a little different than other areas.

2:26.0

Go stone ever move into the trees a whole lot here.

2:29.0

You know they're generally bristle comb sometimes and I win but you know they're they're 12 to 13,000 feet.

2:35.0

I mean what elevation did you get yours at?

2:38.0

It was 3 close to 13. I backed back in my camp was at 12,200 and it's so I went in along this a couple miles in along this creek going to the bottom of the basin.

2:54.0

It was kind of running east west and then it went curved and curved went north. It was kind of where I camped and in this spot that I was in.

3:02.0

So the whole kind of south and west side was all these you know steep cliffs.

3:09.0

There was there was shale below it. There was steep and then it went to these nearly vertical cliffs.

3:16.0

And then yeah and that's where the goats were hanging out. We're betting up in there.

3:22.0

You know the area that was then to my kind of north east was a pretty nice ridge where there was a bunch of terraces.
