The Michael Berry Show is on the air. We typically start the show with a story of national importance that is most likely the most important story in the country.

Today we start with a story that most of you, because you'll be outside of Texas, are not familiar with.

And I'm not going to drag this out, and I'd like to devote about three or four minutes to it,

but I would like to offer that this is the problem in our country today.

If we recognize that government, especially the elected portion of it, is where we make policy.

And let's compare that to your company.

You've got a company that is a restaurant and you say what what concept are we going to have or we're going to sell Italian all right and what hours are we going to be open and what's our price point going to be the top of the line white glove or we're going to be a

we're going to be a cheap buffet that is really affordable for working people. Those are the policies that you make.

And then the government, the bureaucrats, the federal employees, are the people who work in the kitchen and and cook and these

sorts of things and the owner slash decision maker is the person you elect and then they set the policies that are

actually executed by the ATF or Social Security Department or any number of military.

So if you're choosing who's going to be the owner

and set the policies, you should choose them based on whether they reflect what you want, whether what

they do is what you want, whether you think they have the experience or they can they can gain it.

But all too often, and this is true for Republicans as well as Democrats,

we put people in office for reasons other than they would be good at that.
