This is CBS I In The World. I'm John Bashler. Mary O'Grady. Mary Anastasia O'Grady, the

0:10.1

America's colonist and editor for the Wall Street Journal, takes us to Naurinio. I'm

0:15.2

told that is the name of the palace of the president of Columbia, Gustavo Petro, recently

0:22.2

elected in part of the pink tide goes the story throughout the Americas, moving left

0:28.3

of center and Mr. Petro's credentials are excellent. He's a former terrorist and a man

0:33.9

who's campaigned for years as a outspoken populist. But now there's trouble in the palace, there's

0:40.3

1:37.9

Petro's chief of staff and basically threatening her that if he didn't get better treatment

1:45.2

from the president, he would expose the $3.5 million that the campaign collected and used

1:55.9

in the region that's along the Atlantic coast and notoriously corrupt region to win the

2:00.9

election. He was angry, he is angry apparently, because he thinks he should have a higher

2:08.0

ranking job in the government. He was kind of tired of sitting in Caracas and he saw

2:13.4

lots of other people passing him by, getting ministerial jobs and so forth. So he unloaded

2:19.4

on Laura Saravia, who is Petro's chief of staff in Boatta. And that's the tape we have.
