Big news was dropping into the sky yesterday in college football, like a week's safety and cover three as

the E.S. BN. announced they have bought the meteor rights to show the college

football playoff until 2031 for a cool 1.3 billion dollars annually.

But it was the other news that really caught my eye.

What's that news you might ask?

Well, it's that the new playoff format that will be

voted on February 20th, right now seems like the 5-7 format is going to win out. And in that case,

the fan base that should be the most excited

is not Oregon State or Washington State, but it is without a doubt Notre Dame.

Now, why should the fighting Irish be thanking touchdown Jesus this morning?

Well, you don't have to be a number scientist to figure out that the five plus seven format,

which is a fancy way of saying the five highest conference champions will automatically

get in,

but now seven at large teams will get a bid
