representing people who lost money investing in her crypto token, Hawk, which flopped in

early December amid allegations of a pump and dump scheme. The viral TikTok star encouraged

victims of Hawk coin to reach out to the law firm suing Hawks creators as she works to uncover the truth

about the token. Welch received a fixed fee in return for lending her likeness to the project,

and there was no guarantee she would make any additional money from the meme coin after,

according to a press agency email sent to CoinDesk. El Salvador is in the process of securing a

$3.5 billion deal with the International Monetary Fund, but is making some concessions around Bitcoin

to get the funding. Stacey Herbert, director of the Bitcoin office in El Salvador, posting on

Thursday that the government issued Shiva wallet launched in 2021

in a bid to spread Bitcoin adoption across the country will be sold off or wound down as part

of the deal.

But other Bitcoin wallets operated by private companies will continue serving El Salvador.
