Hey, my friend, welcome to the art of online business podcast.

0:08.8

My name is Rick Mulready, and I'm an online business coach.

0:11.8

I'm an ads expert.

0:13.2

And most importantly, I'm a dad.

0:15.6

And this show is where we help established online course creators and coaches create more profit, more impact,

0:23.4

with less hustle. All right, let's get into it.

0:26.6

Hey, what's up my friends? Rick here, back with another Friday Quick Tip episode here on the show. Now, I've shared this story on the

0:39.7

podcast here before, so I'm not going to dive into it too deeply, but I'll give you the high

0:44.2

level version of it. And this is going to all make sense here in just a second. So essentially,

0:49.0

in the first four years of my online business, we were able to hit seven figures. And I don't say that to

0:54.9

brag or anything like that. Quite the contrary, it's more of a cautionary tale. And I thought

1:00.0

that was what success looked like because that's what I was told. You don't make it until you

1:04.0

hit seven figures, which is a bunch of crap. But anyway, I remember hitting it and I was like,

1:09.2

My mental health, my physical health, my relationships, my relationship with my wife, everything suffered

1:28.1

in my pursuit of this goal. In the next couple years after hitting that in like 2018,

1:34.3

2019, my revenue dipped. And I couldn't quite figure out why. It wasn't until I was working

1:40.4

with somebody. We figured it out. My brain was subconsciously self-sabotaging my

1:47.9

success. Because subconsciously my brain was saying, well, wait a minute, in order for you to have

1:52.5

the kind of success, quote unquote, that you're looking to have financially, it comes at the expense

1:58.2

of your health, physical health, mental health, your relationships,

2:01.6

etc.

2:02.6

And so I was like, oh, like it just like blew my mind that my brain was doing that subconsciously.
