And today we revisit the Lakers coaching search. It's been a couple weeks where we've gotten to sit on our thoughts with that and talk it out, been a lot of reporting around it,

a lot of surrounding JJ Reddick in particular. That has been a topic of great discussion

in our text thread, and I look forward to fleshing that out throughout this pod. But,

Dee, let's start there. One of the things I want to start with is just kind of how from watching the

playoffs, it's been a reminder of how important it is for your coach and the talent to be on

the same page. So like the whatever philosophy that coach has, the talent to really fit it.

And that's something that the last couple of coaching staffs, there have been issues with

that with the Lakers. And so not knowing Reddx basketball philosophies or the other candidates

entirely, kind of what are you looking for as the Lakers conduct this coaching search?

So I think it's great that you start with the idea of there being alignment and a through line

between the

coaching and the talent. A key idea to me, though, Pete, is the ability as a head coach to be

malleable and to coach the team that you have. I think it's important to build out a lot of what

you do based off of your roster in combination with what your beliefs are.

And I think that if your beliefs drive every decision, then I think that you can start to veer
