We are welcoming Gregory Wrightstone to the program.

Gregory is a geologist, an executive director of the CO2 Coalition.

We'll talk about that a little bit later.

He's also the author of a book called Inconvenient Facts.

And he's got a new book out called A Very Convenient Warming, How modest Warming and More CO2 are benefiting humanity.

Hmm.

Well, we have a headline we want to start off with talking to Gregory about.

And apparently the UN is quietly and discreetly backing a climate group that is adjusting the

doomsday clock.

Hmm, Gregory, why would they do that?

Can you enlighten us?

Well, I'm surprised they did, actually, but it's valuable.

And this is the intergovernmental panel on climate change that just backed away from there.

It's called RCP 8.5.

None of your listeners know what that is, but it stands for representative

concentration pathway. And it's how much CO2 will be in the atmosphere in the future.

It was completely, we've been arguing against this that no one should look at it. It's the wildest of wild estimations of what will happen with CO2 and warming,

looking far into the future.

And just last week, the IPCC said that it was implausible that we would ever reach that.
