Hello, my friends. Welcome back to the morning mindset. Are you ready? Have you stopped

everything in terms of what you're thinking and how you're pressing into the day to

pause and get your mind aligned with the truth of God? That's what this 6 minutes is about.

Because we know when our thinking is aligned with the way that God thinks, then our behavior

is much more likely to come online and to follow suit. And so that's what the morning mindset

is about. So let's take a deep breath together. Just kind of push away those stresses and pressures

of the day for just a moment. And let's invite the Holy Spirit to come and speak to us. Holy

Spirit, as we dive in to Proverbs 11, verse 15, we ask you to speak to our hearts. Prepare us

for how we should think about this day. Prepare us for how we should live in this day.

In your name, we pray. Amen. All right, Proverbs chapter 11, verse 15. I want to talk to you today

about the potential, the possibility of co-signing your life away. Now, I understand that's an

extreme sounding statement and perhaps it is in most cases, but the Proverbs are very strong

when it comes to talking about financial responsibility. There are very clear principles

that we are to follow, generally speaking, if we are to be secure in our finances. And

Proverbs implies we should be secure in our finances. We should be handling things wisely

as good stewards of what God has given us. So Proverbs chapter 11, verse number 15 says,

whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer harm. But he who hates striking

hands in pledge is secure. Now, there's some phrasing here that we need to define just to make

sure we're all on the same page as far as our understanding goes. When he says puts up security,

what he means is our modern day equivalent of co-signing on a loan of some sort. So it's basically

stepping into a situation where someone else is trying to get some sort of financial help

through a loan or through some kind of a situation like that. And this person who has greater
