Hey there from CNN. I'm David Rind with the five things you need to know for Wednesday,

June 3rd. CNN is back inside Iran at a very tense time for the ongoing ceasefire. The U.S.

and Tehran traded strikes again overnight. Things really heated up after the U.S. hit

a military ground control station near the Strait of Hormuz out of self-defense,

that's according to the U.S. Central Command. Iran responded by firing missiles and drones at U.S.

bases in Bahrain in Kuwait. The U.S. says all missiles and drones were either intercepted or fell

short of their targets. However, Kuwait's health ministry says an Iranian strike injured

63 people at Kuwait's airport.

Indian embassy says one Indian national was killed in the attack. So like I said, CNN's senior

international correspondent Fred Pliken is in Iran. So Fred, what is the mood there as all this plays

out? David, I'm currently on the road to Tehran from the border between Iran and Turkey.

And certainly the mood on the ground here is very much one of watching and waiting to see what happens next.

People here very closely following those negotiations that have been going on between the United States and Iran,

trying to get to a memorandum of understanding to pave the way for larger talks for a possible bigger peace agreement.

At the same time, of course, people here are very much aware of the situation in the strait of Hormuz,

those strikes that took place overnight.

And people here also understand that all of that is very dangerous for the process that is going

on and could lead to further armed conflict between Iran and the U.S.
