Well, I don't know about you, but for me,

part of learning how to lead a whole lot better has been

understanding who I am I think it was John Calvin who said without knowledge of

God there is no knowledge of self and without knowledge of self there's no knowledge of

God so true that was like emotional intelligence half a millennium before there was

emotional intelligence like in the literature it's just it's just brilliant And one of the things that I've been both, you know,

amazed and somewhat horrified at is the whole journey of self-discovery as a leader and sort of discovering

my weak spots, my blind spots, but also the unique ways that God has created me.

And so today on the podcast, what's so exciting is we're starting a bit of a two-part series, a mini-series. Today's guest is Rodney Cox.

Next week I've got Terry Lindhart and we are talking all about self-awareness and really that's the heart

of emotional intelligence and if there's one thing

that I really think you can grow in as a leader it's emotional intelligence and if you

improve your EI you kind of improve everything which is awesome and so how do we get into this well

a number of years ago I did a survey I'm gonna tell you about in in the interview

with that Rodney's company actually created,

which gave me the most accurate profile of myself
