So folks in 2024 closing the turnout gap for eligible citizens with situational barriers to voting, you know, it could make the difference in fact I think it will make the difference in this election.

So today I'm going to be joined by three voting champions. These individuals are not just

experts in the work they're doing,

but they're passionate about it.

And they're going to discuss with us how

to close that turnout gap for formerly incarcerated citizens

with people with disabilities and overseas Americans and the

obstacles that stand between them and the ballot box as well as the barriers that

a lot of our neighbors, friends, and families face here at home.

Louis Reed is not only well versed in the voter restoration process,

he is one of the nation's more charismatic advocates for criminal justice reform.

In fact, having served nearly 14 years in federal prison, he knows of what he speaks. He has worked with Jay-Z's Reform Alliance as well as Van Jones and Jessica Jackson's dream

core. So he is in the game trying to change the game for felons in restoring their rights to vote.

Michelle Bishop is the voter access and engagement

manager for the National Disability Rights Network, the federally mandated

protection and advocacy organization for individuals with disabilities.

Michelle partners with civil rights groups in Washington DC to protect voting rights and

election access for for those in the disabled community. And my good friend

and CEO of the organization I happen to chair,

US Vote Foundation.
