Hi there everybody, it is 4 o'clock in New York, I'm Aimen Mohedin in today for Nicole Wallace.

Special counsel Jack Smith and his team of investigators, as you might expect, have so far

moved with relative secrecy.

There are no daily press conferences, no tweets, no fanfare surrounding significant developments

or announcements, so it does take a few trained ears to the ground.

And vitally, the American public's attention to recognize just how unrelenting the investigation

has surged for.

That's as clear as ever this afternoon.

The Wall Street Journal is now reporting Smith's team in recent weeks has taken growing

interest in issued subpoenas for and asked questions of some of the lawyers associated with

Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Among the names, some of them you probably recognize, Sydney Powell, for example, so central

in spreading baseless accusations of voter fraud.

And then Emily Newman, who worked with her, Mike Roman, who sent lawyers to swing states

before the November election.

And you may recall we told you last week about Rudy Giuliani's voluntary conversation

with investigators, the result of a so-called proper agreement.

We now know that meeting actually spanned eight hours.

And of particular interest, that infamous White House meeting back in December of 2020,

a heated and profane clash according to the January 6th committee, in which Sydney Powell

put forward a plan to have our country's military seize voting machines all in order to

rerun the election.
