My name is Matthew and it's wonderful to have you joining me tonight as we remember

that God is close to the broken-hearted.

Tonight, we will be hearing about the nearness and protection of our Lord

when we are broken-hearted and crushed in spirit.

The main passage of Scripture that will be showing us this aspect of God is Psalm 34, 17 to 19, which reads,

The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help.
