My name is Derek Plum, and I'm the owner of Cut Right Landscape and Tree.

Well, before I started time blocking, we didn't have the office and other things in place,

and it literally was off the top of my head.

I would have to go off notes and try to remember 47 things a day, and most of the time, honestly,

things got forgotten and never got done.

So how time blocking has changed is we run on a very tight schedule now, where everything is done by appointment.

And we actually get those 47 things done plus more every day.

So that's made a major difference in the way the business is organized and runs now and allows

us to shift things that are fires into places and still get those done.

On at least three of the five days, I am done by five o'clock.

Therefore, I'm able to be with any family events, kids' activities, and things like that.

In the past, that I missed quite a lot of due to not having a tightly run schedule.

It has helped create systems and things that have made where the office is running very efficiently,

which requires less of me. And also, by doing that, we're able to move things around when needed.

And it just, everything runs on an hour to hour schedule

and it never differs from that.

So it seems like a massive amount of stuff
