We're very excited today to be speaking with Dr. Leo Sprinkle, a true pioneer in the

esoteric realm of the UFO field.

Dr. Sprinkle, we'll work up to Leo in a little while.

How does someone from the quote-unquote normal world get involved in the realm of UFO study?

There were two factors.

One, my own experiences as a child and my sightings of strange craft with a buddy of mine

when we were students at the University of Colorado and Boulder, 1949.

And then my wife and I had a siding in 1956, so the personal aspect was already there.

And then as a professional person in 1961, when I finished doctoral studies, I joined

Nycap and APRO, the National Investigations

Committee on Aerial Phenomena and the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization and became

a consultant to APRO.

And they were very, Jim and Coal Lorenzen were very helpful in not only working with people like Jim Harder and Frank Salisbury,

but with a lot of people who had had UFO experiences.

And their take I liked, they didn't try to run up against the military and governmental opposition.

They said, well, let's do what we can outside the censorship or the denial.
