The four years that Steve McMahonman spent at Real Madrid

can be summed up in two Champions

League wins, two league titles and one remark from Johann Christ who described the

Merseys Madredista as the Society of Toulos. A partner to everybody on the pitch, i.e. the guy that if you give the ball, you

get it back in a better position than you did before. Somebody who links play. It's a good description

of Steve, I think. Maca would have needed the help of an interpreter to translate such an endorsement during his early days in Spain,

but you're about to hear how he overcame the language barrier by throwing himself into the social side of life at Real Madrid.
