So a lot of buzz in the financial community, not much otherwise about Walmart being rumored

to either be going into a joint venture with Humana or potentially even buying Humana.

There's a big urge to merge across healthcare and across retail with big pharmacy operations,

the mergers that have been going on with the drugstore chains, the pharmacy benefits managers.

And something that is not really considered or talked about is Walmart employs a zillion

people, the largest non-governmental employer in the United States.

And they employ, depending on how you measure it, may in and a half to a little over two million

people.

And so Walmart is a ginormous payer of healthcare bills to its own people.

They've been trying in many creative ways to get the costs under control and at the same

time improve the quality of care their employees receive.
