Clark, a recent call reminded me of how you leave out one important piece of advice when you

are discussing saving on prescription drugs. Many people now have high deductible health plans

that require the insured to pay the full cost of medicine until the deductible is reached.

It is important to remind these people that they still need to run their prescriptions through

their insurance for two reasons. One, it allows the prescription to be counted against their

deductible. Two, insurance companies may have negotiated pricing on drugs that the insured gets to

take advantage of, even if the out of pocket costs is 100% of the negotiated price. Please be sure

to remind your listeners that they should always present their insurance card along with any other
