We're entering into Acts chapter two. We did the introduction last weekend, covered chapter one on Wednesday night, and then we're going to do chapter two, Lord willing, on Wednesday night. And as we always do, we're going to take a little section from our upcoming passage, so Acts chapter two is our text today. And it's an important text in the sense that some would say the trigger that really kicked off the New Testament church,

the Christian church.

You know, before this, it was not the church age.

It was the Old Testament period of the prophets and the law.

But when Jesus died, rose from the grave, ascended into heaven, man, that kicked off

an age where the Holy Spirit came upon his church.

And it was a specific day. We call it the day of Pentecost. And the reason we called the

day of Pentecost, it was on the feast of Pentecost, which Penta being five, it's a, it was 50

days after the Passover is when Pentecost would be celebrated.

So people would come to Jerusalem for Pentecost.

But during that time, that's when the Holy Spirit came upon the church there,

120 people in the upper room.

And we're going to see that on Wednesday night.

And what happened there?

They spoke in tongues.

You're like, what is tongues all

about? That's weird. No, we're going to get into tongues and talk a little bit about that on Wednesday

night, as well as what happened with the earliest of church behaviors. What did they do? And I think,

like we talked about at the introduction, you know, why do churches do what they do? And it really is an

interesting study. And some of you, it might be nudie, like what other churches, some of you

may have never been to another church. Others of you may have been to a lot of different kinds

of churches. And why do some pastors and priests and wear pointy hats and robes? And why would
