Hello there, I'm Chuck Todd, and we just wrapped up this morning's Easter episode of Meet

the Press.

Today we had interviews.

It was no Easter episode.

It was no holiday week.

We had interviews with Trans-Scientist Secretary Pete Buttigieg's exclusive interview in

the SIPP Republican Senator Roger Wicker, and we, of course, had Dr. Michael Osterholm,

Director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of

Minnesota.

Look, let me give you my quick takeaways on all the interviews.

I think it was interesting to me that number one what Pete Buttigieg would not say.

It would not say for sure that there would be deficit spending in here.

It didn't want to talk about any red lines that maybe Joe Biden might have on how to

pay for this.

They seemed to want to at least provide publicly the idea that they are open to all sorts

of ideas to pay for it.

But what I thought was interesting, it wouldn't guarantee that we wouldn't end up deficit

spending here, and we know that there's certainly a lot more comfort level left and right

these days about deficit spending because everybody keeps doing it, and all the fears

of what's going to happen if we keep raising our debt haven't come to fruition yet.

And you know what, that means with politicians, if they're hands on the stove and it isn't

burning your hand up, you keep it on the stove.
