To me, essentially it's an adventure story that talks about the fun and joy of this sport,

how fun it can be.

And that's the thing that, to me, that the real mischaracterization

has to do with the way most of us

had been taught to perceive running.

You know, running is like a punishment. Running is something you have to do

because you ate too much ice cream last night. But for those of us who do it it's

exact opposite. We don't have to do it. We want to do it. Like we can't wait to get out and go for a run. If we had to do it and

was a punishment we wouldn't do it. And that's what I warned that book to be

expressing.
