In fact, I look forward to bringing you conversations every single day that I pray with all my heart that inspire you in your faith walk,

that deep in your understanding of God's Word, and that heightens your awareness of his very real presence in your life. Well, here we are, just days away from

Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, celebrating the birth of our dear Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

And I've mentioned this on the show before, but something we started with our kids back when they

were old enough to sit still, young enough to barely

understand what we were doing, but I want to say they were in grade school. We started an

eve of eve celebration where we would sit around the table, candlelight dinner, turn all the

lights off, just the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree, candles at the table. And we would go

around and we'd answer these three questions what did the lord teach you this past year

what life lesson will you take with you into the coming year and what do you want from the lord in this

next year and we would spend i mean the longest time around that table and our kids put so much

thought into their answers remember one time i I think Jake our oldest was in middle school

and he even used the word appropriate, which I couldn't help but be somewhat impressed. But he said,

I want to learn and know from God this next year what I possess in him so that I can appropriate

what I possess in him. I thought, wow, that is profound. Well, here we are.

Our sons are now grown. They're married, and we've got two grandchildren, and now the daughters-in-law

have come into the mix, and so we do the same thing. We sit down on Eve of Eve, and that's now
