Hi, I'm Susie Larson. Thanks for listening to this podcast for Middays with Susie Larson.

0:05.4

It's only just a matter around. Thanks so much for listening to this bonus content from the Midday show today. We've been walking through the questions, what did the Lord teach you this past year? What life lesson will you take with you in the coming year? What do you want from the Lord in this next year and how has Jesus changed you?

0:38.4

Well, we had so many responses we couldn't get to them all. So we've got a little bit of bonus content to add on to our live show. Right now, I've got a friend named Stephanie Rittenauer on the line and she's got some stories and some testimonies to share. Stephanie, so good to talk with you. Hi, thank you. It's so good to talk with you as well.

I mean, if we can't talk, you know, face to face, might as well just get you on the show so we can catch up, right? Exactly. So let's walk through these questions. I would love to hear your answers. What did the Lord teach you this past year? Oh, that is such an incredibly deep question.

firstly, I definitely learned how to truly let go of control.

1:22.6

I tend to be kind of a type A controlling person. And when I had to walk through my valley, I definitely learned to let go and let the Lord have

his way with me and especially my family and my children.

1:38.8

And then secondly, I think he's also taught me how to be vulnerable enough to let others in to help take care of me and my family.

1:48.3

You know, Stephanie, Kim and I, my producer and I were talking a little bit earlier in the show about when you're a type A, when you're a doer and a producer, Grace doesn't always come easy because we're so used to managing so many things.

And for the sake of context, Stephanie, why don't you give us a little bit of understanding of what your valley was you have three

little boys and you out of the out of nowhere were hit with a health challenge

2:09.3

yes this summer through the fall I started losing feeling and strengthen my

feet legs hands and, and arms.

2:20.3

And then at the very end of it, and by September Labor Day, I also lost most of the function of my face.

2:27.3

So I could have blink or smile and my mom came to live with us for a little while and I had to learn to solely rely on her and my husband, Nick, to meet all of my needs.

2:39.8

They had to care for everything because I couldn't do anything on my own.

2:43.0

And then to watch my children, you know, there's six, five, and three.

2:47.5

Oh, that was hard.

2:50.8

Learning how to go back to God and letting him have that control over, is my family going to be okay?

3:00.9

Is my husband going to be able to do all of this for us?

3:04.0

And we didn't have an ankle.
