The recent movie The Sound of Hope tells a story of 77 foster care children that found homes with

22 families from a single small church community in, and I'm not making this up, Possum Trot, Texas.

The movie depicted the struggles and abuse that so many children in foster care experience, including

mental health struggles, depression, self-harm, and other coping mechanisms.

Still, the 22 families in possum trot followed the

Lord's example, becoming fathers to the fatherless, as Psalm 68-5 says, and

their story is a chapter in the very long history of how Christians have from the very beginning

of the church obeyed these words from Jesus Christ.

Quote, for I was hungry and you gave me food.

I was thirsty and you gave me drink.

I was a stranger and you welcomed me. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me. I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me."

Tragically, increasingly, Christians are being prevented from this kind of good work, especially in adoption related situations.

During the past two years, two families in the state of Vermont, who had both previously adopted were refused additional

children because of their religious beliefs.

The state even revoked the foster care licenses of these two couples after adopting new policies regarding sexual orientation, gender

ideology, and gender expression.

The Alliance Defending Freedom has now filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court of

Vermont on their behalf.

Now even worse, Vermont banned the in the U.S. District Court of Vermont on their behalf.
