And when you've left the LDS Church, one of the common misconceptions is, well, I can't go to a Christian church because I already got burned by a church.

Yeah, you did.

You got burned by the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter-day Saints.

They're humans, but bad leadership, not godly, as far as the Bible is concerned, they're teaching wrong doctrine.

But just because somebody gets burned from attending Mormonism,

it doesn't mean that there's Eric Johnson, and he is from a Mormonism research ministry, right?

Yeah, it is.

You got it right.

And you are like a research associate there, and I'm going to have to ask you to explain what a ministry is, because I'm really not sure I understand.

So, so Mormonism research ministry was founded in 1979 by Bill McKeever in Southern California.

He became a Christian at 18, and he had a lot of Mormon friends. Nobody ever tried to share their

faith with him until after he became a Christian, evangelical Christian. So they started to try to

convert him at that point. So he did a lot of research at that time and realized there were a lot

of differences between what he believed or what he had just gotten into Christianity versus what Mormonism

had taught. And so we started that ministry in 1979. The ministry has a twofold objective.

Number one is to share our faith with Latter-day Saints. We care very much about them. The Bible says

in Ephesians 415 that we're supposed to speak the truth and love.

And 1. Peter 315 and 16 says that we're supposed to have answers for everyone who asks us to

give the reason for what we believe, but do it with gentleness and respect. So that would be the

first objective is to share our faith. The second is to explain what Mormonism is to evangelical Christians and try to be

as accurate as possible by going to the best sources, which are the general authority, Salt Lake City,

and explain what their leaders have taught in the past and what they teach today. So those are
