Before you scroll any further, let me ask you something important.

When you think about 2026, who is God actually calling you to become?

There's something I do every single year that has quietly become one of my most grounding God-centered practices in my life.

At the beginning of the year, I take a piece of paper, and across the very

top, I write my name in the year. This year, it says Kim 2026. I don't do this as a declaration.

I don't do it as a goal list, and I definitely don't do it to prove anything. I do it as an invitation.

Years ago, I watched a sitcom where one of the characters would dramatically announce who he was

going to be in the future.

He'd write his name and the year at the top of the page and describe this bold, impressive

version of himself.

Looking back, I realized something. It wasn't confidence. It was

insecurity. It was desire to be enough, to be seen, to convince the world and maybe himself

that he mattered. And if I'm honest, I've lived seasons of my life that way too. Trying to become

who I thought I should be, who I thought

people wanted me to be, who I thought would finally prove my worth. Does this sound familiar?

Because scripture tells us something very different. Galatians 110 says, am I now trying to win the approval of human beings or of God? If I were still

trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. And I don't want to live like that anymore.

How about you? So now when I write my name in the year at the top of the page, I don't announce

anything to the

world. I ask God a question, who do you want me to be this year? Not what do you want me to achieve,

not what do I need to fix, but who am I becoming? Because identity always comes before action in the kingdom of God. Romans 8 reminds us that

we are being conformed to the image of Christ, not hustled into a better version of ourselves, right?
