And we're so excited to be back with you guys.

0:32.3

I know.

0:32.9

And we have a topic that we actually came in here with, like, so many other plans.

0:36.5

Honestly, a lot deeper plans. Honestly. So I'm sorry if you were this week hoping that you were going to get some

0:42.8

great advice, even though I'm sure there'll be great advice mixed in. But we had to get on the

0:47.8

trend to talk about Christian X. Oh, this one got us really excited. We're like, we kept talking

0:52.9

about it and we were like, okay, we should wait for the podcast.

0:55.4

But there's so many good and, like, honestly, convicting. Convicting. I mean, literally we're writing the list, and half of them were like, oh, wait, we do this. We've done it. So keep that in mind. We're also making fun of ourselves. I know. But it all started actually because someone was like, I want to hear your take on modesty.

1:12.9

And like, I get that question a lot. Yeah. You know I do. And it's funny because it is such, I feel like I have a hot take. And the modesty talk that the Christian culture has like done has been one of my biggest icks in my life. And I don't know if it's just because I grew up near New Orleans, Louisiana.

1:28.4

So I'm like, I grew up to Mardi Gras and people are like running around naked. You know, so I'm like, I was the modest girl. Like I was in, believe or not, I was the one. They were like, she's so crude. She's like, it was like during this, when the TV show The Secret life American teenager was out and I was so controversial and I was like the god girl so that was like a

1:47.2

little hot. I was so controversial.

1:44.9

And I was like the God girl.

2:17.9

So that was like a little hot take. I once confessed everyone that my biggest fear was being the Virgin Mary, which honestly, like is so ironic. Biggest fear, Virgin Mary. I was like when I was, I was like I just think I have God's favor. I feel like I'm his favorite. You are named Grace. so like what if he if he picks me to bear the next good? I know. Anyways. So then I got called virgin Mary. Like, people like did not think of that. And then I went to Baylor University, a great school, loved it. And I remember people would be like, wow, you just kind of like provocative. And I was like, what? I was like, I was the good girl. I'm confused.

3:09.4

And it was such a culture shock for me in a weird way. And so with the modesty talk, I think there's so many things that like Christian culture leaves out. And there's also certain girls who just have it harder. Like, like we've talked about before, Ketley knows. I've been called Miss Stickums by a random gas lady. And it's like I can wear stuff that like I know other girls can not wear and won't get said anything. Do you agree with me, Kelly? Oh, 100%. And I think it's so interesting too because one of my good friends, Niki, she has like a bigger body type and she'll say the same thing all the time and be like, okay, you put this on and it's like called like, oh, fashion forward or trendy or this and that. And then she'll wear the same exact outfit. And it's like, oh, like, who are you trying to dress up for? Like she'll get so much shade because of it. People are like asking her like all these like rude questions. And I'm like it's truly just, I don't want to say our generation. Like it's just our society and our standards for modesty. And I mean, rooted in the church, rooted in like our community. I don't know where it comes from, but it's literally everywhere in and out of the church, honestly. No, I completely agree. And I just think people care so much about someone's clothing. I don't know why it gets people up in a tansy. like the classic like dress code at the youth group thing and I'm like oh my gosh the fingertips

3:26.9

like making sure like you're the I don't know why it gets people up in a tansy. Like the classic like dress code at the youth group thing.

3:25.2

And I'm like, what about someone's heart?

3:27.0

Like making sure like the skirt reaches the finger. I mean, I had long legs growing up. So I'm like every time I wore shorts, I'm like, it's always going to be out of dress coat. Like it's always going to be out of dress coat. And okay, I have a very, being in youth ministry, I and love this one girl who also worked with me.

3:42.6

Her name is Catherine.
