He's a priest of the Archdiocese of Detroit

and is currently the executive director of a non-profit organization called Acts 29,

which exists to work with pastors and their teams to transform their parish culture

and reclaim the church's missionary identity. He was ordained in 1996.

It's inspiring to see as many guys here as there are. I hope you're as inspired to look around the room

and to see a couple hundred men who's shown up on a Saturday morning when it's cold when many of us

could be doing other things not only to get together but to get together in a particular way to talk

about prayer. My hope would be that as many of us who make the effort to come out and listen

to a talk on prayer or reflection on prayer would make the effort to actually pray. So John, thanks me

to God for your efforts to make this a better habit now and to get into

the habit of praying for an hour a day.

But we all struggle with lots of different things.

Hopefully we will resolve, especially in this time, in New Year's resolutions and whatnot,

to let that be a habit which we really allow to getting grained into our lives.

So since it is a talk on prayer, it be only fitting for us to begin in prayer again.

So let's ask the Lord to come and be with us and bless us.
