All right, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the forward podcast.

I know it's been a minute, and I don't even remember the last time I did a forward, an episode of the forward.

But this one, this one was just sort of sprung onto my lap via sitting next to somebody on an airplane.

I get into the full story in the show.

I normally don't like to talk to anybody on airplanes, but this one ended up being a very interesting airplane ride.

I think you'll find the conversation even more interesting.

My guest is Chris Voss, a former FBI hostage negotiator, wrote a best-selling book,

never split the difference, basically took his experiences,

very real life, very serious experiences

of negotiating for the release of hostages and translated it into sort of everyday life.

So whether you're in a relationship, whether you're a business person, whether you're whatever,

some really helpful insights. Negotiating as if your life depended on it. That sounds

pretty damn serious. So enjoy that. One other thing outside of just want to wish everybody a happy holiday season. I know this is a, you know, a fun time for a lot of people, but it's also a stressful time.

You know, this time of year is, while it's all sort of supposed to be this feel good,

warm, fuzzy time of the year, I know that sometimes it disappoints for people.

And so if you are some of those people,

hang in there and try to enjoy this holiday season.

I always tell people spending 20-30 years out on the

road, interacting with cars when I was on my bike. That's always a contentious

relationship, but the holiday season was always the worst time of the year and at that

point in my life I realize this this stresses people out but anyways hang in there folks
