Chris McQuarrie is one of the great screenwriters of our age and a great film director too and has lately taken to use Twitter to help aspiring filmmakers.

Man, I'll never forget seeing usual suspects for the first time and the impact that film

had on me is enormous. It still has a huge influence on me as does much of your other work.

Anytime I interact with you, we are that odd thing of online friends you and I.

which was really like something that I could have written just probably not as well about what we lose when we allow

others to give us permission to do the work. Yes. And people really reacted to it and it does really echo stuff that I've talked

about for a long time. But here's a question for you. How and when have you learned to separate

your own self-worth from Hollywood's opinion of you at a given moment?
