We were at Gillette Stadium in the media room.

And today we're going to discuss the Patriots offense.

They have an asset in Drake May on a rookie contract.

He should, for the better part of the rest of the decade, be the linchpin of this team.

So the Patriots, as Albert Breer reported this week,

are asking around about the best way to cultivate that player's talents,

to make him grow, to give him the fertilizer that he needs to be who he is.

I've heard the same thing. Patriots want to maximize his talents.

What that obviously means is they want to surround him with the best offensive coaching they

can, which would

mean Alex Van Pelt, who's done a very good job developing May to this point, would have his

job scrutinized and decided upon as to whether or not they want to continue with him or perhaps

look outside for another candidate to cultivate May.
