Summary

Chris Carter is a television writer, producer, and director best known as the creator of science fiction series The X-Files. He began his screenwriting career at Walt Disney Studios in 1985 before moving to Twentieth Century Fox Television. There, he developed The X-Files, which ran for 11 seasons and earned him multiple Golden Globe Awards, Emmy Award nominations, and a Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting. Tetrogrammaton I was an art major originally, but I was putting myself through college making pottery.

I went to Long Beach State University, which was the Clay School.

That was where anyone who wanted to develop their skills,

there were two doctors of ceramics teaching there,

and it kind of ran its course.

And even though there's really interesting stuff

I decided after two years of that, that it wasn't the direction I needed to be in.

And I walked literally down the hill to the journalism department, walked into a teacher's office

and says, how do I become a journalism major?

He said, do this, do this, do this.

I graduated to the degree in journalism.

And because I was a surfer, I did my internship at Surfing Magazine, which was San Clementi.

They were going from a bi-monthly to a monthly.

I made myself indispensable.

They hired me and I ended up working at the magazine on site for five years.
