The people who come to Jesus are given to Jesus by the Father.

The coming and the giving are the same thing, aren't they?

And when somebody comes to Jesus, he will never cast them out.

How does God sovereignly secure our salvation?

Let's look at verse 6.

Here Jesus picks up on the point of 2B.

He gave us eternal life there in 2B,

and he picks up on the point in three that this life is to know God

and there are no request in verses six to eight

let's read these verses I manifested thy name to the men whom now gave us me out of the world

now let's just pause there and make the connection.

He says he manifested the father's name.

Here it says he gave them eternal life,

and then he defines eternal life as knowing thee.

So giving them eternal life must mean making the father known, which is the same as

manifesting his name. So he's picking up on the point here. I did manifest thy name. That is,

I did make the known. That is, I did give them eternal life. That is, I did glorify thee on the earth. That is, I did accomplish the work, which you gave me to do.
