So you too can be built up through the insights and mysteries God revealed to her throughout

her ministry.

I want you to notice the verbs in these two lines, let nothing trouble you, let nothing

frighten you.

Now that verb, let, involves the will, doesn't it?

You have to decide that you are not going to allow things to trouble you or to frighten

you, but nothing trouble you.

Jesus said, let not your hearts be troubled.

Now we have to make a very clear distinction, and especially we women who are so prone

to operate on the basis of emotions.

We have to remember that God has given us emotions, and He has given us will, and those

are two separate and distinct faculties.

And will is the faculty given to us, which enables us to choose our attitudes.

But most of the time we do not bother to choose our attitudes.

We act according to how we happen to feel, and that's chaos.

When Jesus says, let not your heart be troubled.

He's not saying there is anything scary going to happen.

He's saying all kinds of scary things are going to happen, and He made it with very plain
