Hey friend, it's Kristen. Grab your scriptures and let's dive into Exodus 8, verse 15.

Now, years ago, I noticed a concerning trend in my spirituality.

My prayer relationship with God was amazing when my life was hard.

I would talk to him all day. I would listen intently for his guidance and I would seek his wisdom

about like almost every decision. Unfortunately, the opposite was true when life was good.

My prayers would go back to simple morning and evening prayers

that said, Dear Heavenly Father, I'm so thankful for this day, so thankful for my family, you know how it goes.

I realized that my prayers got bad as soon as my life got good. Pharaoh had a similar problem.

He humbled himself enough to ask Moses to end the plague of frogs, which Moses did. The frogs died and

things went back to normal. But instead of staying humble, quote, when Pharaoh saw that there was

respite, he hardened his heart. No more trials than the Israelites don't go free. This is something

we'll see happen over and over with Pharaoh throughout the 10 plagues. But instead of judging

him, let's look at ourselves and ask, what happens to my spirituality when life is good?

Then let's take action to be more humble without needing a trial to force that humility on us.

So the takeaway of the day in five words or less is, choose to be humble.
