Domo media. That was Yola Tango and today I am lucky to have the great snowboarder,

maybe the greatest female snowboarder of all time, Chloe Kim,

recent gold medalist of the Pyeongchang Olympics and someone that I've gotten to know a little bit

over the past year. I talk a little bit too much about how we met. We met at the NBC studios

and I made her a turist from Sandwich that got a little bit of the news, but it was not what I

wanted to do. And if anything, even though I don't know Chloe Kim that well, I'm weirdly like

trying to be a better older brother type figure to her and protector as much as I can from the

nonsense that's out there. And I really admire her. She's endured a lot to get to the gold

and to where she's at and who she is as a person and what she represents as not just a great

athlete, not just a Korean American, but someone that I think is representative of not being pigeonholed

and excelling at that and defying sort of what your stereotype might be and Chloe Kim is Chloe Kim

and I wrote her sort of time 100 induction piece for the past year. She was honored in the time 100

and in it, I was saying just like Chloe Kim, be Chloe Kim. She's had to endure a lot. She's had to

carry the burden of being a representative of Koreans and Korean American culture and snowboard

culture and at the time she was only 17. So much of what I believed was everyone wanted to dictate

how she should be and how she represents Korean American culture and being a role model and having

a little bit of that myself, even though I'm much older than Chloe, I wanted to make sure that she

got to write her own destiny and you know the same thing. She doesn't need any of my help, but she's

been doing it just fine on her own. So I was stoked that we reached out to Chloe and she agreed to do

this because I think she's a role model for everyone, including myself as to how you can write your

own narrative and sort of defy the expectations and I was really stoked to have her on board.
