There's been some news about China buying up a lot of American farmland.

Yeah.

And I'm curious if it hits your radar and what your thoughts are on that.

Yeah.

I think China definitely is probably buying farmland.

I think other countries are also investing in U.S. farmland and other, you know,

U.S. large financial investing firms are buying up farmland for sure.

And so that was, you know, you mentioned this sort of thought that generational, definitely

there is this sort of generational aspect of farming where land is inherited in the family, but

there's this huge, you know,

reality right now where a lot of farmland is owned by what we call absentee landowners.

They don't live on the land. They aren't the ones doing the farming. So that's changed. So many

farmers now are managing relationships as tenants with an investor firm that might be in New York City or a person that used to live in town and moved and they're in Chicago now working at some job. And so I'd say the majority of the land is actually not owned by the people that are farming it and is owned by people in other places.

And so that's really changed our sort of concept of a farmer and the way that we think about how a farmer can care about a land.

How can I help? How can I be useful in ending needless suffering?
