Beijing is placing sanctions on three US defense companies including Boeing.

The move came just as Taiwan swore in its new president. The US

recently sanctioned some Chinese firms over their ties to Russia's

invasion of Ukraine. A US Senate committee finds three carmakers imported

which the U.S. has said uses forced labor.

The Senate investigation found BMW and Jaguar Land Rover continued imports even after they were told about the issue.

Target says it will lower prices on about 5,000 items in a bid to attract more budget conscious shoppers.

The move comes as rival Walmart posted better than expected financial results in the first quarter,

Target reports on Wednesday. And the Red Lobster restaurant chain has officially filed for bankruptcy

protection. The company is closing some locations and plans to

sell the business to an entity formed by its lenders. In the court filing it lists
