As many of you may have noticed and may have read in my recently published update, this podcast

episode is a bit late, and neither of us have written very much recently due to the fact that we

moved out of Chile, which had been my home for the last six plus years. So this episode will start

off by going over first why I ended up deciding to leave Chile, since a lot of people

are completely unaware of how bad things have gotten there. And now, some of you may be thinking,

well, Chile is really, really far away from where I live, so good thing that the dystopian madness

going on over there won't affect me, well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news,

but Chile, since 1973, has been used as a testbed for both police state and neoliberal policies

by the U.S. and the U.K. and the West in general. And over the course of COVID, the U.K.

government in particular has adopted policies, like its five-tier lockdown system

from the five-step lockdown system that was first tested out in Chile, starting in around

March or April of last year. So if anything, the situation going on now in Chile that we are

about to describe to you in detail is likely to be rolled out or its rollout

will be attempted in the West during this alleged third wave period that we've been hearing

about recently that they keep saying is going to happen around June or July of this year.

So we're going to start off talking about the drastic differences and how Chile's COVID situation

and their policies are advertised abroad versus how things actually are on the ground.

So, Johnny, coming from the UK in last year's lockdown over there,

what were your impressions of the lockdown situation in Chile?

advertised to you while you were in the UK by the press and how do that compare with
