Hi everybody, this is Gatsad. In chapter 6 of my 2020 book, The Parasitic Mind,

I explained the collective mind malady known as ostrich parasitic syndrome, whereby you come up with all sorts of ways to deny a blatantly obvious reality.

One of the instantiations of ostrich parasitic syndrome is to not blame certain geopolitical

realities or terrorism on the obvious culprit, but to blame it on all sorts of other reasons.

Bill Nye, a self-described science guy, found a way to connect an Islamist terror attack in Paris to climate change, saying, quote, you ready? It's very reasonable to conclude that the recent

trouble in Paris is a result of climate change.

There is a water shortage in Syria. This is fact-based. Small and medium farmers have abandoned their

farms because there's not enough water, not enough rainfall, and especially the young people who

have not grown up there, have not had their whole lives invested in living off the land.

The young people have gone to the big cities looking for work.

There is not enough work for everybody, so that this affected youths, as we say, the young people who don't believe in the system,

believe the system has failed, don't believe in the economy, are more easily engaged and more easily recruited by terrorist

organizations, and then they end up part way around the world in Paris shooting people.

You can make a very reasonable argument that climate change is not indirectly related to terrorism.

It's related to terrorism.

So this is just the start of things. The more we let this go on,

the more trouble there's going to be. You can say, quote, we'll stamp out the terrorists, close quote,

but everybody's leaving their farms because of water shortages. That's a little bigger problem,

close quote. So Bill Nye argued that the Bataklan terror attack in Paris, where a bunch

of terrorists walked into a place, killed nearly 200 people, screaming Allahou Akbar and all sorts of
