From the land of the free and the home of the chiefs, this is the

locked on chiefs podcast. It's locked on chiefs for Tuesday and there's been a couple

of updates. The big story today is what's going on with some of the players as they progress

through their injuries and honestly through some teams a little bit, AFC West news as well.

Top of the list is Patrick Mahomes and like I told you yesterday a lot of conflicting information Rick

Burkholder had an update on Monday saying that really they couldn't have asked

for anything better just as we had talked about feeling pretty optimistic and that

Patrick Mahome spent the weekend on a what is a mini buy week for this team where

his teammates were enjoying some time off. Patrick spent the weekend rehabbing, trying to get the musculature back developed,

taking over some of the stress from those ligaments that attach the kneecap to the knee joint itself

to both the tibia and the fibula which is more complex than it than I need to go

into here. I'm sorry I have a pension for details but that leads us to the idea that Patrick is

week to week Andy Reed would not even rule out him playing against the Green Bay

Packers which I think is out of the picture for me.

Based on my history and experience dealing with these type of injuries, I don't see that happening, but

we're going to bring in Matt Derek here after the first break to talk about specifically

About what we heard from

Coach Reed about Pat Mahomes, about the defense,

another injury as well, so we'll talk to Matt and a few,

but Mahomes being able to not be ruled out now

really bodes wealth in my opinion for him being able to play against the Vikings.
