I am Chris Clark from Chiefs Digest and today we are going to talk a little bit more about the Chiefs

salary cap situation. They did get under the salary cap they restructured Frank

Clark's contract. This is going to be your Chiefs's new story of the day.

So to get under the salary cap for 2020,

Kansas City restructured 5 million of Frank Clark's salary in 2020

to be a signing bonus. That's spread it out enough to where he is now under the salary cap or the chiefs are now under the salary cap after moving on from Cameron Irving.

Why that is important right now.

I am looking at over the cap right now.

I'm looking at the Chief's cap number and according to over the cap,

they're actually over the cap by $15,000. So obviously there's some little bit more money

somewhere that they have to take care of and I'm sure they've already done it

and I'm sure he just doesn't have all the ins and outs but I'm sure they've already done it and I'm sure he just doesn't have all the

ends and outs but I'm sure the chiefs are under the salary cap as of 3 p.m.

East turn time on Thursday. At this point, Kansas City is going to be looking at making some moves.

They are, like I said, 15,000 over the cap I apologize

But they have moves that they can make if they go and cut Sammy Watkins now

They can use the June 1st designation and spread it out over two years.

So that will save them some money this year and will cost some money in 2021.
