seasons signing Chris Jones defensive tackle to a brand spanking new for your 80 million dollar contract.

Welcome back to Lockdown Chiefs, I'm Ryan. This is going to be an interesting show.

It's going to be a bit long because we got to go over all the details, at least those that we know as of late Tuesday afternoon. I held off doing this until we had as much information as I could stand to wait for.

And later we're going to talk with the rest of the AFC West

about how we're going to try and keep up with the chiefs,

especially this makes things harder.

So this conversation you'll hear later in the show is going to be even more interesting.

This contract came in mid-day and the four-year 80 million is on average right up in there in the 20 million the that actually elevated and we heard that we the representatives for Chris Jones wanted to bump that up.

They wanted to get into somewhere between the Buckner and even up to the Donald numbers.

And so the question is is did that really change and in the end it

did when you look at per average average per season he actually comes in. Well above Fletcher Cox at 17.1, Chris is at an even

20 right now. There are incentives we understand that he can get up to an additional 5 million

over the course of the contract.

I don't have those details specifically laid out yet

in someone that, from someone that I can trust,

so I'm not gonna go over those yet.

We will cover those when they come out.

But, so the APY is at 20 which puts him a bit behind a

million behind de forest buckner and 2.5 behind Aaron Donald. So clearly
