going to collapse our all- encompassing focus down to a

singular episode of television.

The final episode in the Chernobyl saga that we've been watching these last few weeks.

I have so enthralled and so many others has been enthralled by on HBO.

Jim, last week I was afraid that with all of the heroics, the nuclear-powered heroics over with that this kind of trial and finger-pointing

and the political process would be kind of a dull affair and maybe turn people off. I was really impressed by how riveting this

episode of television was and how crazy informative it was. What did you think?

Yeah, I think it certainly was. The trial as portrayed in this episode was exciting. Is that a weird thing to say about a trial? I don't know. Apparently the real one extremely

boring. So they decided to go a little bit off script here, but I think it paid off I think like showing Legosov's

heroism here after his implied or you know kind of skipped over failure in Vienna we get to understand that he is

sort of regretting the decision he made there he's having another opportunity

here to say his peace one that he takes and I I thought it was exciting

It was delivering on the really enjoyed it. Yeah I thought that it would be hard to like I man this is

just this this 10 minute thing where they do where they were Jared Harris

explains why the reactor blew up and why you could

reasonably believe that this reactor couldn't blow up. It took literally

everything going wrong.

But also they point out that like, you know,

Diatlov might have been a man waving a gun around

at a party squeezing the trigger
