I'm Jonathan Kay.

Here at Colette, we talk a lot about cancel culture, typically involving progressive mob shutting down writers,

artists and academics.

But it's important to remember that cancel culture afflicts the conservative side of the political

spectrum too. And sometimes in recent years the mob

that comes after its target has been led by one particular person, outgoing

president Donald J. Trump. One of Trump's mobbing victims was Sherry Jacobis, a veteran conservative strategist whose career in Washington dates back to the Cold War.

Until just a few years ago, she was a regular on Fox News, CNN, and other major networks,

where she would often pitch conservative causes.

But then in 2015, shortly after she was offered a role on Trump's campaign team, ironically, things

took a bad turn for Jacobus.

In New York meetings, Jacobus developed a bad impression of Corey Loeendowski, Trump's campaign manager, and got the sense that
