Chelsea Manning sacrificed everything to leak classified information to the public and expose some of the most heinous

war crimes from Iraq and Afghanistan, forever changing the course of history. She shattered

paradigms yet again by coming out as a transgender female. And in a recent interview

from jail, she discusses her legal fight for hormone therapy as a means to help other transgender

prisoners survive. Now she's tweeting from prison via third party. And in her first tweet, she gave a little

shout out to journalist Alexa O'Brien.

And for good reason.

Alexa is an independent investigative journalist who was most tirelessly dedicated to the Manning case.

Since 2012, she's provided an archive of the only available transcripts of Manning's closed trial.

But Alexa doesn't only fight for whistleblowers.

She also fights to preserve our civil liberties.

She was one of the main plaintiffs on the National Defense Authorization Act lawsuit

filed against Obama, led by Chris Hedges.

She was also foundational in the initial organizing group for Occupy Wall Street

called U.S. Day of Rage. Earlier, Robbie and I spoke to Alexa about Manning's exposures,

the erosion of civil liberties in a post-9-11 world, and the conjoining of entertainment,
