So I was speaking with a good friend of mine the other day over a video call and the connection was terrible.

And we tried all the tricks turn off the camera dial in again and in the end we just had to give up.

The reason I bring this up is because it made me think about how often we are so disconnected from our bodies and what is happening around us.

As Zoom would say, your connection is unstable.

So often our bodies might be physically present but our mind is off somewhere completely different.

Whether it's when we're working or spending time with family, having conversations, cooking, eating or exercising, maybe even when we're trying to relax.

The mind has a habit of wandering off.

Normally into past events or future scenarios that haven't happened.

And it can sometimes feel like our signal or our connection with ourselves and others around us is weak or that it keeps cutting out completely.

Over time, all that disruption or loss of signal can lead to feelings of frustration at ourselves or others.

Sometimes anger can arise as perhaps someone has misunderstood what you meant.

Feelings of stress and anxiety increase because we're only getting a fraction of the information we need and we move to a place of reacting versus responding.

The good news is we can strengthen the signal. We can learn to reconnect or tune into our body and the world around us.
